saving sydney

Boston-0415/13 Sydney Corcoran from Lowell is helped by Matt Smith (left) from Boston and Zack Mione from Portland Oregon on the sidewalk at the site of the first Boston Marathon bombing. They saved her life by using t-shirts around her legs and applied pressure to stop the bleeding. A piece of shrapnel from the pressure-cooker bomb the size of a cell phone severe her femoral artery. Her mother Celeste lost both legs.
