Membership
in the Boston Press Photographers Association, Inc., shall
be exclusively confined to professional News Photographers
and others whose occupation has a direct relationship with
News Photography as defined in SECTION 2 and SECTION 3 of
Article III and SECTION 2 of Article XV of the BPPA Constitution
and Bylaws.
Section
2 - FULL MEMBERSHIP. To qualify for full membership a candidate
must be employed on a full time basis by an accredited newspaper,
television station, news syndicate, television network, news
magazine or newsreel company as a News Photographer whose
principal duties consist of being engaged in the procurement
of photographic images for dissemination by the aforementioned
recognized news media.
Section
3 - ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP. Any individual who does not meet
the requirements of SECTION 2 of this article may be considered
for Associate Membership if that individual meets the following
requirements.
A.
The candidate must be regularly engaged in the procurement
of news images and/or the processing of same for an accredited
newspaper, television station, news syndicate, television
network, news magazine or newsreel company on a consistent
basis of not less than three (3) days a week.
B.
The candidate must be primarily engaged in the procurement
of news images for an accredited newspaper, television station,
news syndicate, television network, news magazine or newsreel
company on a freelance or contractual basis.
Associate
Membership shall be granted only upon the approval of the
application, by a vote, by the majority of the Board of Directors.
Associate members shall be afforded all privileges of the
Association and shall be governed by its rules except that;
Associate members shall not vote on any business of the Association
nor shall they hold elective office. Any member in good standing
at the inception of SECTION 3 above shall not be reclassified
under the terms of this bylaw.
